I’m a logophile who has always loved to lose herself in a good book. In my late twenties it occurred to me, through a series of circumstances I no longer remember, that I was already a wordsmith. It took until my thirties to actually attempt to do anything with it though. In November 2009 I pretended to attempt my very first NaNoWriMo. I failed miserably, but that was primarily because I had no real idea what I was getting into AND I was hand-writing the novel in a spiral bound notebook! Since then I successfully completed NaNoWriMo 2010, Camp NaNoWriMo July 2011, NaNoWriMo 2012, Camp NaNoWriMo-1st Session 2012 and NaNoWriMo 2012.
The 2010 novel is complete and needs editing, then I start the query process for an agent. The July 2011 novel is maybe halfway finished. The 2011 November NaNo novel is 3/4 finished and is the project I am currently attempting to focus on completing. That one was the hardest one to undertake. It contained a series of flashbacks that I was not prepared to work with and I did not have a clear end-point in mind as I did with the previous novels. Lydia will get her ending!
Generally speaking, My “default,” so to speak, is fiction. I started a 2nd novel in January of 2011 while between jobs. I have ideas for no less than 3 more books and that doesn’t include the supporting characters in the book and stories I already have. I also have ideas for a couple of non-fiction books.
Lastly, I don’t know exactly what it would look like, but I can also freelance to write for YOU! I am an excellent writer and as a hard-core logophile (someone who is absolutely head-over-heels in love with Words!) I have a fantastic attention to detail. I would be more than happy to discuss writing copy for a corporate newsletter or booket or even a personal story. I’ve even been told that I write beautiful cards. Hire me for your next extra special birthday card!
